- Inserting tables
- Inserting a table using the method in the tutorial is the preferred method
- (tutorial covers how to get the right format and get it to fit on the page properly, etc.)
- (if you are struggling with keeping your format when you copy in, watch the tutorial below first)
- OR to insert a table and keep the formatting if you made it in excel:
- In excel: highlight your table and hit ctrl+c
- In word: insert tab - table - excel spreadsheet, hit ctrl+v
- Adjust the width and hight by clicking on the dark black squares on the top and right boarder and dragging to fit your needs
- However, adjusting a wide table to fit within the margins of the page is much more difficult if you use this method, so if it is a wide table I suggest following the tutorial below and above.
- Headings
- (applicable to any report - not limited to the thesis template)
- Section breaks
- (applicable to any report - not limited to the thesis template)
- (used for when you need to ie. adjust page numbers to be different for different sections in your paper)
- (used to ensure proper spacing for heading 1's in the thesis template)
EndNote 軟體 (Citations and reference lists - and organizing the literature you collect)
- Using EndNote to cite in word
- (applicable to any report - not limited to the thesis template)
- (there are also many other EndNote tutorials available on youtube)
- (download the PDF how-to for some of the basic steps and issues to pay attention to)
- Troubleshooting EndNote (applicable to any report - not limited to the thesis template)
- Part 1
- Going through your references in EndNote and catching all APA5th related errors
- Part 2:
- Making the 'Record Number' show in your EndNote library
- Turning on Instant Formatting (after turning it off - perhaps accidentally or to more easily move your reference list)
- squiggly brackets show up when it is not turned on, i.e.:
- {Owen, 2009 #22} instead of (Owen, 2009)
- Checking for duplicate citations
- Updating your reference list and citations to reflect the corrections you made in EndNote
- Moving your reference list from the bottom of your report up to where you want it, and ensuring it is formatted correctly
Other 其他- Downloading Software from the NCKU server (NCKU students only)
- Quickly and painlessly saving your document as a PDF
- in your document, select Save As -> 'PDF or XPS'
- (save to PDF when you need to print your report or upload your thesis to the library)

The tutorials were recorded to help students in following the NCKU IIMBA strict thesis formatting regulations, and in adhering to the requirement of using EndNote.
The recordings were made into videos by the help of the 2010 Senior Student Council (thanks!).
